KSE, Altitude Sports sign innovative radio extension

DENVER, Aug. 18, 2010 – Denver Nuggets and Colorado Avalanche games will return to AM 950 as part of a new three-year agreement between Kroenke Sports Enterprises, Altitude Sports & Entertainment and Mile High Sports Radio.
“We are excited to announce our continued partnership with Mile High Sports Radio, as well as the renewal of our relationship with Lincoln Financial Media,” said Paul Andrews, Executive Vice President of KSE. “We look forward to another great season of home team sports action with these two companies. With two great sports stations promoting the games, as well as one of the area’s most powerful AM signals serving as our radio home, we’ll be able to reach our fans in a very unique and fan-friendly manner.”

The new deal involves both of Mile High Sports Radio’s stations, KCKK AM 1510 and FM 93.7, as well as a pair of Lincoln Financial Media’s stations, KRWZ AM 950 and KKFN FM 104.3 The Fan, in a unique, three-party agreement that will see AM 950 serve as the primary carrier for games, Mile High Sports Radio AM 1510 and FM 93.7 as the carrier of conflict games when multiple teams play on the same day, and both Mile High Sports Radio and The Fan providing promotion for the teams and games.

”This is a creative partnership that took tremendous vision on the part of everyone involved,” said James Merilatt, President of Mile High Sports Radio. “It’s a win-win-win for Mile High Sports Radio, Lincoln Financial Media, and the Avalanche and Nuggets.”

“We’re excited to once again have the Avalanche and Nuggets on AM 950,” said Bob Call, Senior Vice President and General Manager for Lincoln Financial Media Company of Colorado. “And we’re looking forward to working with Mile High Sports Radio and the teams to build this one-of-a-kind partnership.”

A radio broadcast schedule for the coming season, including both preseason and regular season games, will be announced later this summer. Talent and all production for the Nuggets and Avalanche broadcasts will be provided by Kroenke Sports Enterprises. Further details on talent lineups will be provided in the coming weeks.

“We are delighted that through this three-way partnership that includes AM 950, Mile High Sports Radio will remain the home of the Colorado Avalanche and Denver Nuggets,” said Matt Hutchings, Altitude’s Executive Vice President/Chief Operating Officer. “With this groundbreaking partnership, we’ll be able to ensure that our games are heard by our fans up and down the Front Range.”
